Delve Behind the Scenes with Us on Our 'Tomato Girl Summer' Photoshoot!

Summer is officially in full swing, and here at Essence Home, we've been soaking up every ray of sunshine and embracing the relaxed, vibrant spirit of the season. You've seen the gorgeous results of our "Summer Stripes" collection, but today, we're taking you on an exclusive journey behind the lens to our recent photoshoot, which we've affectionately dubbed our "Tomato Girl Summer" session!

Our vision for this shoot was simple: to capture the effortless charm of a quintessential summer day, filled with fresh produce, good company, and beautiful homeware. We wanted to evoke that feeling of enjoying an al fresco meal in a sun-dappled garden, where the colours pop and every detail adds to the joyful atmosphere.

The star of the show, beyond our stunning "Summer Stripes" collection, was undoubtedly the abundance of ripe, juicy tomatoes. From plump, ruby-red beefsteaks to strings of sweet cherry tomatoes in various hues, they truly brought the "Tomato Girl Summer" vibe to life. We scattered them artfully on plates, let them tumble from bowls, and even used them as delightful props for a splash of natural colour.

Our outdoor setting was the perfect backdrop. Imagine a charming garden, complete with lush greenery and a rustic shed, providing that idyllic, slightly wild English garden feel. However, it was not just any garden, it was a gorgeous Cafe located in a small nook of a local village. We set up a cosy table for two, draped in our iconic blue and white gingham tablecloth - a true summer staple that instantly brings to mind picnics and long, lazy afternoons. 

On the table, our "Summer Stripes" collection truly shone. You can spot the elegant, tall ceramic salt and pepper mills in soft pistachio and blush pink, adding a touch of sophisticated fun. Our striped jugs, perfect for serving refreshing drinks, stood tall, ready to quench a summer thirst. And, of course, the crisp, fresh salad greens, lemons, and those glorious tomatoes completed the perfect summer spread.

One of the highlights of the day was capturing the hands-on moments – a hand reaching for a plump cherry tomato, another tossing a vibrant green salad, or simply admiring the bounty of fresh ingredients. These candid shots truly convey the relaxed and inviting atmosphere we aimed to create.

We also made sure to capture the broader scene, showcasing how our pieces integrate seamlessly into an outdoor living space. The charming turquoise garden chairs, adorned with comfy checked cushions, invited a moment of repose, perhaps with a good book or a cool drink. A beautiful woven basket sat nearby, ready to hold freshly picked produce or a cosy blanket for cooler evenings.
